Melbourne/IBNS, July 10 -- The opening match of the upcoming season of the Big Bash League (BBL) will be played in India, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced during his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.

The announcement was made by the two leaders during their visit to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) as part of PM Modi's Australia tour.
