Florida sues OpenAI, Sam Altman, claims ChatGPT put children at risk
India, June 2 -- Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has announced legal action against OpenAI and its Chief Executive Officer, Sam Altman, alleging that the company knowingly released and aggressively marketed ChatGPT to the public-including children-while concealing serious risks, suppressing internal safety concerns, and misleading consumers about the product's capabilities and potential dangers.
"Today, we announced the first-in-the-nation state-led lawsuit against OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman," Uthmeier said. "OpenAI and Altman ignored internal and external safety warnings, put children at significant risk, and allowed a dangerous product to reach millions of Floridians."
