India, May 16 -- An FIR has been registered against Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee at the Bidhannagar Cyber Crime Police Station over allegations of delivering provocative and inflammatory speeches during the 2026 West Bengal Assembly election campaign.

According to the complaint, social activist Rajib Sarkar lodged an FIR on May 5, a day after the election results were declared, alleging that Banerjee made multiple contentious remarks during campaign rallies held between April 27 and May 3.

The complainant also submitted links to several speeches as supporting material.
