Kolkata/IBNS, June 3 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday visited the Kalighat Road residence of Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee in south Kolkata to serve him a notice in connection with the investigation into the alleged primary teacher recruitment irregularities in West Bengal.

According to ED sources, officials of the central agency went to Banerjee's residence as part of the ongoing probe.

However, they were unable to hand over the notice directly as he was not present at home at the time of their visit.

Summons issued for June 15

Sources in the probe agency said Abhishek Banerjee has been summoned to appear before ED investigators on June 15 in connection with the primary recruitment case.
