New Delhi/IBNS, Sept. 23 -- In its first public response to The Indian Express report on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday said all decisions taken by the poll panel over the past year were "unanimously" taken despite differences of opinion during internal deliberations.

The ECI, in a post on X, stressed that it is a multi-member constitutional body functioning under Article 324 of the Constitution and follows transparency, legal procedures and internal checks while making decisions.

The poll panel said differences of opinion among Commissioners and observations raised during internal discussions were a normal part of the decision-making process.
