DMK to boycott INDIA bloc meet over Congress's support to Vijay, alliance under strain
India, June 4 -- The opposition's INDIA alliance faces fresh turbulence after the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) announced it will skip the bloc's June 8 meeting in Delhi, accusing the Congress of betraying its long-time ally by backing Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) after the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
While the DMK stopped short of quitting the alliance, its decision has exposed deep fissures within the opposition camp and raised questions about the future of opposition unity in Tamil Nadu.
