Dhaka summons Indian envoy after Bangladesh PM's aide stopped at Delhi airport
Dhaka/New Delhi/IBNS, June 15 -- A diplomatic dispute has emerged between Bangladesh and India after Zahed Ur Rahman, Adviser on Policy and Strategy Affairs to Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, was briefly prevented from entering India at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport before receiving clearance.
Despite being allowed entry after intervention from higher authorities, Rahman chose not to proceed with his visit and instead returned to Dhaka via Colombo, according to reports in Bangladeshi media.
The incident prompted Bangladesh to summon Indian Deputy High Commissioner Pawan Badhe.
