Chennai/IBNS, March 28 -- Vijay's Jana Nayagan, which was initially slated for a January release, hit a roadblock due to issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
After months of delay, the makers are now expecting certification soon and are preparing to lock a new release date.
The timing, however, is likely to be influenced by the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
This uncertainty has forced the makers to reassess their financial strategy while finalising a fresh release window.
Jana Nayagan is now likely to be pushed to June-July, keeping in mind the release schedules of KD: The Devil and Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups, both backed by KVN Productions.
