India, May 12 -- At least nine people, including two traffic police personnel, were killed in a powerful blast that rocked Serai Naurang tehsil in Pakistan's Lakki Marwat district on Tuesday.

The explosion also left 33 others injured, according to local media reports.

The two deceased police personnel were identified as Adil Jan and Rahatullah.

Lakki Marwat Deputy Inspector General of Police Sajjad Khan confirmed to Dawn News that both victims were traffic police officials.

Initial reports suggested that the explosives had been planted inside a rickshaw.
