India, May 19 -- The CPI(M), a key ally of the TVK-led government in Tamil Nadu, has warned that it would reconsider its support if Chief Minister Vijay ever allows the AIADMK or any of its factions into the ruling coalition.

In a sharp statement, the Left party said the people of Tamil Nadu had voted against both the DMK and the AIADMK, and bringing the AIADMK into the government would go against the mandate delivered by voters in the Assembly election.

The CPI(M) also argued that the inclusion of the AIADMK would contradict TVK's promise of "clean governance", a key plank of Vijay's election campaign.
