India, July 29 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief C. Joseph Vijay drew enthusiastic crowds on Wednesday as he travelled on the Chennai Metro to review its operations, with hundreds of fans gathering at stations for a glimpse of the actor-turned-politician.

Vijay began his journey from Omandurar Metro station in the afternoon and travelled to Nandanam, accompanied by senior Metro officials.

Vijay buys his own ticket

In a gesture that caught the attention of commuters, Vijay stood in line at the ticket counter and purchased his own Metro ticket instead of using a special arrangement.
