India, Oct. 7 -- A child was killed after a four-storey building collapsed in northeast Delhi's Seemapuri area on Wednesday, triggering a massive search and rescue operation. At least eight people have been rescued so far, officials said.

DCP Rajendra Prasad Meena said the child was decapitated in the collapse.

The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) received a call about the incident at around 3:30 pm and rushed fire engines to the spot. "Search and rescue operation is ongoing," a fire service official said.

Locals join rescue efforts
