Ottawa/IBNS, Sept. 15 -- Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will travel to Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, France, on September 20 to meet President Emmanuel Macron and discuss stronger cooperation in strategic sectors.

The visit comes as Canada seeks to strengthen domestic capabilities and build closer partnerships amid a more divided and uncertain global environment.

Economic and security partnership

Canada and France share a maritime border between Newfoundland and Labrador and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, a French overseas collectivity located approximately 25 kilometres off the coast of Newfoundland.
