Canada hits back at Trump with $20 billion tariffs on US goods
India, Aug. 25 -- Canada has announced retaliatory tariffs on around 700 US goods worth $20 billion as the trade war between the two neighbouring countries intensifies.
The tariffs, ranging from 15% to 50%, will take effect on September 8, Canadian officials said on Tuesday.
Ottawa said its measures will match the US tariff levels and affect a range of industries, including steel, dairy and electronics.
He added that Canadians could see that the country was "united" in its response to Washington.
