Brussels, May 12 -- Canada on Thursday announced a new round of sanctions targeting individuals and entities accused of involvement in alleged human rights violations linked to Russia's war in Ukraine, including the deportation and transfer of Ukrainian children from occupied territories.

The measures were unveiled during the high-level meeting of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children in Brussels, co-hosted by Canada, the European Union and Ukraine.

The funding will support monitoring, reporting and advocacy efforts related to alleged abuses arising from the conflict, including displacement and attacks on civilian infrastructure, Global Affairs Canada said.
