India, Aug. 5 -- A petrol bomb was hurled at the ancestral home of former Bangladesh cricket captain and former Awami League MP Shakib Al Hasan on Wednesday night, just hours after he appeared virtually alongside former prime minister Sheikh Hasina at a press conference hosted in New Delhi.

The attack took place around 8.45 pm local time at Shakib's ancestral residence in the Keshabmor area of Magura town.

According to reports, the house was also vandalised. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Attack follows Hasina's virtual address

The incident came shortly after Sheikh Hasina addressed a virtual press conference organised by the Foreign Correspondents' Club (FCC) in New Delhi.
