India, Oct. 16 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday launched a fresh attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha of behaving inappropriately with a woman police officer during an Opposition protest in Delhi.

BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia criticised Gandhi over a video that purportedly showed him pushing past a woman police officer during a protest near Jantar Mantar.

The allegations have triggered a political exchange between the BJP and the Congress.

The BJP spokesperson questioned Gandhi's conduct and accused him of undermining the dignity of women police personnel.

He also criticised the Congress leader for not addressing the controversy surrounding the video.
