India, Sept. 22 -- Police shot one of the key accused in the legs after arresting him in connection with the alleged sexual assault and harassment of two minors in Bihar's Jamui district, an incident that triggered widespread outrage after a video of the episode went viral on social media.

The accused has been identified as Nandan Yadav.

The incident reportedly took place on September 19 when a Class 10 girl and her male friend were allegedly intercepted and harassed in Jamui, located around 150 km from state capital Patna.

According to reports, the girl was allegedly grabbed, groped and sexually assaulted, while her male friend was allegedly assaulted by the accused.
