India, May 18 -- Members of the Bhoj Utsav Samiti, along with a large number of Hindu devotees, installed an idol of Goddess Saraswati inside the Bhojshala complex in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, days after the Madhya Pradesh High Court ruled that the Bhojshala Temple-Kamal Maula Mosque site in Dhar is a temple.

Before the installation, devotees performed rituals on the premises, including the sprinkling of Ganga water and cow urine for purification. An "Akhand Jyoti" (eternal flame) was also lit and placed within the sanctum.

The development comes after the High Court on Friday set aside a 2003 Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) directive that had permitted Muslims to offer namaz at the site.
