India, May 20 -- Bangladesh police have arrested three more people in connection with the brutal killing of Hindu man Dipu Chandra Das last year, an incident that drew widespread international condemnation.

With the latest arrests, the total number of people detained in connection with the case has risen to 29.

The three suspects were arrested during a police operation conducted in front of Pioneer Knitwears (BD) Limited, where Dipu Das had worked, in the Jamirdia Masterbari area of Bhaluka upazila on Monday afternoon, according to a press release issued by the district Superintendent of Police on Tuesday evening, Dhaka Tribune reported.
