India, Sept. 25 -- The Balochistan government in Pakistan has imposed Section 144 for 30 days, citing reports indicating the likelihood of activities and gatherings that may adver-sely affect law and order and the safety and security of the public, media reports said.

Section 144 of the Code of Cri-minal Procedure empowers the authorities to "issue order absolute at once in urgent cases of nuisance or apprehended danger", reported Dawn News.

The government issued the notification through the Home Department.

Several prohibitions have been imposed in the region immediately.
