Guwahati/IBNS, July 29 -- The death toll in the devastating floods in Assam has climbed to 75, with more than three lakh people still affected by the natural calamity, according to media reports.

While the number of affected people has declined compared to previous days, the flood situation continues to remain critical in several parts of the state.

Among the fatalities, seven deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

Government Announces Additional Relief Measures

The Assam government has announced additional relief measures and relaxed ex gratia norms to expedite compensation for the families of flood victims.
