Ashwini Vaishnaw targets former TMC regime over delayed rail projects, announces Rs.1 lakh crore infra push
Kolkata/IBNS, June 6 -- Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday accused the former Trinamool Congress (TMC) government of obstructing railway and metro projects in West Bengal for years, alleging that a lack of cooperation, delayed clearances and legal challenges slowed infrastructure development across the state.
Speaking after a meeting with Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari at Nabanna, the state secretariat, Vaishnaw said the Centre would now accelerate pending projects with the support of the new state government.
He also announced plans to invest around Rs 1 lakh crore in railway infrastructure and modernisation projects across West Bengal.
