India, March 17 -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Tuesday claimed that Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council and a key figure in the country's leadership, has been eliminated.

In a statement on X, the IDF described Larijani as "one of the most veteran and senior figures within the Iranian regime leadership" and a close associate of Ali Khamenei. The statement further alleged that Larijani played a direct role in overseeing the crackdown on recent anti-regime protests in Iran.

Iranian authorities have not confirmed his death so far.
