India, April 21 -- Tech giant Amazon has announced plans to invest up to $25 billion in Anthropic, deepening its partnership with the fast-rising artificial intelligence firm.

In a statement issued on Monday, Amazon said it would invest an immediate $5 billion in Anthropic, with an additional $20 billion earmarked for the future, contingent on specific commercial milestones. This commitment comes on top of the $8 billion the company has already invested in the AI startup.

As part of the expanded collaboration, Anthropic has committed to spending more than $100 billion over the next decade on Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies.
