India, April 18 -- Air Canada announced Friday it will suspend flights from Toronto and Montreal to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) from June 1 to October 25, 2026, as jet fuel prices have doubled since the Iran conflict, rendering the routes unprofitable.
The cuts affect three daily Toronto-JFK and one Montreal-JFK flights, impacting peak summer travel, per Global News.
Jet fuel averaged $4.32 per gallon Thursday, up from $2.50 pre-war, according to Argus Media data cited by AP News.
This follows Air Canada's earlier Cuba route suspensions and follows industry-wide fare hikes and capacity cuts amid Middle East supply disruptions.
