India, April 28 -- In one of its largest workforce reductions in years, Oracle has laid off an estimated 20,000 to 30,000 employees globally, underscoring a deep shift toward an AI-first business model - and sparking concerns over the future of jobs across the tech industry, media reports said.
The job cuts, communicated via early-morning emails, affected employees across the US, India, Canada and Latin America. The scale - and the suddenness - of the layoffs has triggered widespread debate, especially as both junior and highly experienced professionals were impacted.
