India, Feb. 26 -- Afghanistan has launched offensive operations against Pakistan military positions along the border, the Taliban's spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said on Thursday, describing the move as retaliation for recent Pakistani airstrikes inside Afghan territory.

Mujahid said in a post on X that the offensive was launched "in response to repeated provocations and violations by Pakistani military circles."

The operations are reported along the Durand Line, the long-disputed frontier dividing the two neighbouring countries.
