Delhi/IBNS, Aug. 22 -- A planned protest over rising sugar prices and the Centre's E20 fuel policy turned into a confrontation at activist Tehseen Poonawalla's residence on Saturday, after he claimed Delhi Police prevented him from leaving home for Jantar Mantar.

Poonawalla alleged that police personnel placed him under house arrest as he prepared to protest what he has described as a "sugar scam", while also opposing the government's policy of blending petrol with up to 20 percent ethanol.

Videos posted by Poonawalla on X showed him questioning police personnel outside his residence and asking why he was being prevented from travelling to the protest site.
