Kolkata/IBNS, Aug. 27 -- A confrontation broke out between Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee and Kolkata Police personnel on Thursday after a team of police officers and Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) officials arrived at his Camac Street office to remove TMC billboards.

Banerjee objected to the action and questioned the officials about the legal basis for removing the billboards.

He asked the team to produce a copy of the order authorising the removal as well as the complaint letter on which the action was reportedly based.

Banerjee claimed that the police and KMC officials eventually left the premises after they failed to produce the documents he had requested.
