Srinagar/IBNS, April 20 -- At least 15 people were killed and around 20 others injured after a passenger bus plunged into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district on Monday, media reports said.

Bus Falls Into Gorge Near Kanote Village

The accident occurred near Kanote Village when the bus, travelling from Ramnagar to Udhampur, lost control and fell into a deep gorge.

Driver Loses Control on Sharp Curve

The vehicle rolled down nearly 100 feet along a rocky slope before landing on a lower road.

Rescue Operations Launched

Local authorities rushed to the spot and launched immediate rescue operations.

The injured were shifted to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
