India, Sept. 20 -- BJP MP Kangana Ranaut defended party MLA Maithili Thakur after she faced social media backlash for recently visiting Mumbai's iconic Lalbaugcha Raja pandal in a Rs 13 crore Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

Online trolls targeted MLA by questioning hoe could she afford such an expensive car despite joining politics a year ago.

Thakur created history in 2025 when she beat RJD heavyweight Binod Mishra to become Bihar's youngest MLA.

Thakur, who is a trained singer, contested the polls for the Bharatiya Janata Party.

She had gained attention in 2017 by contesting in reality singing show Rising Star India.

She is highly followed online, especially on YouTube, where she used to share her singing videos.
