'Who tied the hands of CBI?': Calcutta HC on RG Kar case; victim's mother, now BJP MLA, says she is 'deeply disturbed'
Kolkata/IBNS, June 26 -- The Calcutta High Court on Thursday expressed strong dissatisfaction with the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) fresh probe into the RG Kar rape-murder incident, questioning the slow pace at which the country's premier investigating agency is probing into the case, media reports said.
The observations came after the CBI submitted a fresh status report before a division bench comprising Justices Shampa Sarkar and Tirthankar Ghosh in compliance with the court's May 21 directive.
After examining the report, both judges criticised the progress of the investigation, with Justice Tirthankar Ghosh remarking that the probe had failed to meet the expectations set by the court's earlier order.
