'We have been cheated': Egypt coach slams refereeing after Argentina match sparks controversy
Atlanta/IBNS, July 8 -- Argentina's dramatic comeback from two goals down to beat Egypt 3-2 in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 16 has been overshadowed by refereeing controversy, with Egypt coach Hossam Hassan accusing match officials of "cheating" his side out of a place in the quarter-finals.
Speaking at a fiery post-match press conference, Hassan alleged that Egypt had been denied a fair chance in one of the tournament's most dramatic encounters.
