New Delhi/IBNS, April 15 -- Pawan Khera's troubles escalated after his allegations against Himanta Biswa Sarma's wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, as the Supreme Court of India paused the transit anticipatory bail granted to him by the Telangana High Court, according to media reports.

Khera had alleged that the Assam Chief Minister's wife holds passports of three countries - India, the UAE and Egypt - and accused her of owning undisclosed luxury properties in Dubai and having links to a company in Wyoming, United States.

The Assam Police had registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Khera on Riniki Bhuyan's complaint.
