India, Oct. 13 -- US Ambassador Sergio Gor has described India and the United States as "trusted partners", highlighting significant opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in the years ahead.

Speaking at an event in Kolkata marking the 250th anniversary of the United States, Gor said the two countries were working together across several sectors to build a more prosperous and secure future.

"Tonight, we celebrate 250 years of American freedom: the freedom to build, to compete, and to win. And here in Kolkata, we also celebrate a U.S.-India partnership that is delivering real results for both of our nations," he said.
