India, Sept. 4 -- A distressing video of a Tamil Nadu woman working as a domestic help in Kuwait has prompted authorities in Kallakurichi to intervene after she alleged that she was being tortured and had not received her salary for two months.

The woman, identified as Vanitha from Kallakurichi district, made an emotional appeal to the district Collector and Superintendent of Police, seeking help to return to India.

In the video, Vanitha, with her head covered in a scarf and appearing to speak from a confined room, is seen folding her hands while making the plea.
