India, July 29 -- Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has defended Pakistan's crackdown on protesters in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), describing the demonstrators as "enemies like India."

His remarks came amid fresh violence in the Rawalakot area of PoK, where activists have accused Pakistani security forces of killing at least 30 protesters over the past two days.

In a video widely shared on X, Asif is heard saying: "I put the protesters in the same category as India. I consider them also as enemies like India."

The violence has further escalated tensions in the region, where anti-government protests have intensified in recent months.
