New York City/IBNS, Sept. 26 -- India on Friday strongly responded to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's remarks at the United Nations General Assembly, accusing Islamabad of glorifying terrorism as state policy, sheltering terrorists and shielding groups responsible for attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.

India's Permanent Mission to the UN diplomat Petal Gehlot called Sharif's remarks "bizarre" and recalled that Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, was found living in Pakistan.

Taking aim at Sharif's comments on democratic rights and human values, Gehlot said Pakistan's capital was being "fortified against its own people".
