New Delhi/IBNS, Sept. 24 -- The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has given Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar a 48-hour deadline to resign over an investigative media report on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) that has triggered a political controversy in the country.

The CJP has warned of a nationwide agitation if Kumar does not resign within the deadline.

Addressing a press conference, CJP founder and convener Abhijeet Dipke said the issue was not about political parties or the Opposition but the individual rights of voters.
