New Delhi/IBNS, Sept. 25 -- Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder and convener Abhijeet Dipke on Friday said the group would launch a nationwide protest from Mumbai on October 2, marking Gandhi Jayanti, if Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar does not resign within its 48-hour deadline.

Dipke had on Thursday set a 48-hour deadline for Kumar to step down amid the controversy surrounding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), following an investigative report by The Indian Express.

On Friday, the CJP convener reiterated the deadline in a post on X and announced plans for a nationwide protest if Kumar does not resign.
