Kolkata/IBNS, March 16 -- Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Monday walked out of the Rajya Sabha in protest against the (ECI)'s sweeping administrative reshuffle in West Bengal shortly after the announcement of the Assembly election schedule.

TMC MP Derek O'Brien led the walkout from the Upper House of Parliament, accusing the poll body of misusing its powers under the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) to control the state administration.

Late on Sunday night, the ECI removed Nandini Chakraborty as Chief Secretary of West Bengal and Jagdish Prasad Meena as Home Secretary.

Chakraborty was replaced by Dushyant Nariala, while Sanghamitra Ghosh was appointed Principal Secretary, Home and Hill Affairs in place of Meena.
