'If you cannot do it, we will pass an order': Supreme Court's final warning to Centre on food labels
New Delhi/IBNS, Aug. 13 -- The Supreme Court on Thursday issued a final warning to the Centre over the implementation of front-of-pack warning labels for packaged food products containing high levels of sugar, salt and saturated fat, media reports said.
The top court directed the Centre to take the required action on the warning labels and reminded the government of its earlier order in the matter.
In a strong observation, the court said decisions concerning public health should not be influenced by corporate interests.
The bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and K Vinod Chandran made the observations while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL).
