'I didn't wait, I ran': Israeli dentist reveals how he saved wounded Flydubai captain during cockpit attack
India, Oct. 1 -- Israeli dentist Musaev Shota was among the passengers who rushed to help Flydubai captain Smit Machchhar after he was severely injured during an alleged cockpit fight with his Omani co-pilot, who reportedly attempted to crash Flight FZ1073.
Speaking to Ynet, Shota said he rushed towards the cockpit after realising that something was wrong and helped overpower and restrain the suspected attacker before turning his attention to the injured captain.
Shota, who said he was the only doctor aboard the aircraft carrying 174 people, said he treated Machchhar, who was suffering from severe injuries and bleeding.
