India, May 10 -- TVK chief C. Joseph Vijay struck a personal and assertive tone in his first address after taking oath as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, calling himself a "common man" with no political lineage and promising clean, accountable governance.
Emphasising that there would be "only one power centre" under his leadership, Vijay signalled both independence from alliance pressures and a commitment to deliver "real, secular, social justice" without false promises.
Vijay said he did not come from any royal lineage and suggested that was why the people accepted him.
