'Grievous insult': Bangladesh slams Sheikh Hasina's New Delhi press conference
India, Aug. 6 -- Bangladesh's government has reacted angrily to Sheikh Hasina's first public media appearance since her ouster, after the former prime minister addressed a virtual press conference from New Delhi on August 5, the second anniversary of the uprising that ended her rule.
Hasina joined an audio-only interaction organised by the Foreign Correspondents' Club of South Asia in Delhi as Bangladesh marked two years since the July-August 2024 protests that eventually forced her from office.
Her appearance triggered a strong response from Dhaka, which accused India of allowing the former leader to use its territory to make statements against Bangladesh despite concerns raised beforehand.
