India, Aug. 7 -- US President Donald Trump has dismissed media reports claiming he confronted Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth over ammunition shortages, calling the claims "fake news" and expressing full confidence in his Pentagon chief.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: "The Fake News, as usual, is spreading false and completely unfounded rumors. I am extremely happy with the job that Pete Hegseth is doing."

The president also praised recent US military operations, writing: "Everything has been extraordinary, including our attack on Venezuela, where the result was accomplished in less than one day, allowing us to bring one of the worst criminals anywhere in the World, Nicolas Maduro, to Justice!
