India, May 21 -- Mattress brand Wakefit's consolidated profit after tax (PAT) skyrocketed to Rs.121.8 Cr against a loss of Rs.26.2 Cr in the year-ago period. PAT surged 282% from Rs.31.9 Cr in the previous quarter.

Operating revenue, however, grew by 14% to Rs.343.6 Cr from Rs.302.6 Cr in the year-ago quarter. The company's top line plunged 19% from Rs.421.3 Cr in the previous quarter.

Including other income of Rs.17.3 Cr, total income for the quarter stood at Rs.361 Cr. Meanwhile, expenses remained flat at Rs.337.5 Cr.

Important to highlight that the company's bottom line was aided by an Rs.98.1 Cr tax credit it received during the quarter under review. Minus the tax credit, Wakefit's profit for the quarter stood at Rs.23.7 Cr.
