Online Grocery Startup Satvacart Shuts Down After 12-Year Run
India, Aug. 31 -- Gurugram-based online grocery startup Satvacart has shut down after 12 years of operations and disbanded its team after failing to secure the capital required to rebuild and scale the business.
In a LinkedIn post, cofounder Rahul H Saxena said August 28 was Satvacart's last day of operations.
"The past few years. have been particularly challenging. Capital came in, but largely in small tranches rather than at the scale required to rebuild and grow the business," Saxena said.
The startup explored funding, strategic investment, and acquisition opportunities before deciding to wind up operations. It was also in discussions with two large investors for a "significant investment", but neither deal materialised.
