NHRC Seeks Report From Delhi Government Over Alleged Overcharging By Cab Aggregators
India, Aug. 10 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought a report from the Delhi government over allegations that app-based cab and auto aggregators are charging commuters more than the fares prescribed by the city's transport department.
The human rights body has asked the Delhi government to investigate the allegations and submit a report within two weeks.
The action follows a complaint alleging that app-based cab and auto services were charging fares above the prescribed rates.
"We received a complaint that app-based auto and cab services, which are commonly used by citizens, are charging fares higher than the prescribed rates," NHRC member Priyank Kanoongo told IANS.
